After a very very long time I haven’t posted any entries on this portal, I am glad to start again with a personal call to musicians. That is, Gospel musicians. I will delve into details later, for now I simply want to express my sincere appreciation to all those who took the time to write me and encourage me in this praisevoice.com AND ishimwe.com endeavor. It means a lot, and it helped me realize that a simple act of praising God can go a long way!

As it is clearly stated on the who we are page, praisevoice.com and ishimwe.com are really about nothing else but Gospel music. That is the music style we chose because it is the only style that we are passionate about. As many way wonder, the simple answer that it is simply because it is the only kind of music that seems to carry some tangible life in it! I won’t in details about that, but I should mention that while Rock and roll, reggae, hip hop,… all have some reason to be and people to listen to them, Gospel music is the only music genre that really touches the soul. This is a personal choice and it is not arguable, at least not in the interest to change things around. We built our services around that idea and that is pretty much that!

So, I encourage all of you who have stood with you since 2004 to continue showing your support and moral standing with me in this task assigned. This summer 2011, in Sherbrooke, Quebec we will have the first “Joshua generation” gathering, in which PraiseVoice and ISHIMWE.com will play a big part! Stay tuned and more will be posted here!

Be blessed and let’s get together and praise the Lord!

This is one of the many questions we have been receiving from various visitors of PraiseVoice.com and partner ishimwe.com . This is a legitimate question, especially considering the recent revamp of the site from a regular blog to a fully functional social network. To answer to properly, we have to go back to the original vision of PraiseVoice.com in the first place.

Back in 2005, when I created PraiseVoice, I was hoping to bring together all those “world gospel Music enthusiasts” to a common ground where we can share the music and other ideas. For instance, a place where artists meet listeners. The recent changes at PraiseVoice aimed at making it and ishimwe.com a more “socially involved” community. The idea was to make the PraiseVoice community that has been growing remarkably over the past years, interact more.

In the past few weeks the response has been positive with more participation both from the administration of the site and the general Public. For instance, in the last three weeks the amount of data shared between users is more than double the amount shared on the entire site in the entire month of May! !!

In the end the change was necessary and it has proved worth it so far!
